25 Fun And Fascinating Facts About Wynaut From Pokemon

Wynaut is a Psychic type baby Pokemon introduced in Generation III. It evolves into Wobbuffet starting at level 15. Take a look below for 25 fun and fascinating facts about Wynaut.

1. Wynaut is a small, bipedal Pokemon covered in blue fur.

2. Its head is spherical with ear-like, fingerless arms on either side and a bulbous growth on its forehead.

3. It has a wide mouth with a serrated upper jaw and a pink tongue.

4. Its eyes appear closed, each curving upward to a point in the center. 

5. The fur on its body ends in a zigzag pattern, extending over its short legs.

6. Wynaut’s tail is long and completely black, ending in a round, flattened tip with a white, eye-like spot.

7. Wynaut tends to live in caves and travel in herds.

8. It will test its endurance by squeezing up against other Wynaut at night. In doing so, it strengthens itself, toughens its spirit, and learns to deal powerful counterattacks.

9. When angered, it will slap the ground with its tail.

10. As it loves to eat sweet fruit, it is also drawn to fruit gardens.

11. In Generation III, Wynaut is the only baby Pokémon found in the wild in the games, on Mirage Island. Oddly, in Generation IV, Wynaut is the only baby Pokémon that cannot be found in the wild.

12. Wynaut is one of the few Generation III Pokémon who made a debut before the Advanced Generation series.

13. Wynaut has the lowest base Special Attack of all Psychic-type Pokémon.

14. Like its evolved form, Wynaut is probably based on an Okiagari-koboshi doll, a Japanese traditional doll with squinted eyes that stands back upright when pushed over. It is a symbol of perseverance.

15. Wynaut is a play on the phrase, “Why not?”

16. Wynaut debuted during the Blackthorn City arc, which began in Fangs for Nothin’ and ended in Why? Wynaut!. However, Jessie’s Wobbuffet, Ash’s Bayleef, and Ash’s Noctowl were the only ones to see it throughout the entire storyline.

17. A Wynaut appeared in Camp Pikachu. It helped Pikachu and his friends, including the Pichu Brothers, get to the Pichu Brothers’ next train to Big Town. At the end of the episode, the same Wynaut called several other Wynaut, apparently its friends, to help the gang move a cart in order to reach the train.

18. Multiple Wynaut appeared in Who, What, When, Where, Wynaut? as the only inhabitants of Mirage Island. In the episode, a plan of Team Rocket’s backfired and sent everyone to that island.

19. Six Wynaut appeared in Pikachu’s Island Adventure. They, along with a couple of Pichu and a Buizel, were forced off their island by Meowth and his cronies, who claimed the island for themselves. As a result, Pikachu and his friends agreed to help them reclaim the island.

20. A Wynaut appeared in The Brockster Is In!, where it was among other baby Pokémon who were under the care of Normajean. Like the others, it was nursed back to health by Brock’s newly evolved Chansey.

21. Three Wynaut appeared in A Fork in the Road! A Parting of the Ways!, under ownership of Dr. White. They were often seen playing with Dr. White’s Wobbuffet and Jessie’s own Wobbuffet.

22. A Wynaut appeared in a flashback in Delcatty Got Your Tongue.

23. A Wynaut appeared in a fantasy in The Right Place and the Right Mime.

24. A Wynaut appeared in Meloetta’s Moonlight Serenade as one of the Pokémon watching Meloetta’s concert.

25. A Wynaut appeared in Cloudy Fate, Bright Future!, under the ownership of a Psychic.
