Fraxure is a Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It evolves from Axew starting at level 38 and evolves into Haxorus starting at level 48. Take a look below for 23 fun and awesome facts about Fraxure.

1. Fraxure is a bipedal, draconic Pokemon with long, gray tusks with red tips protruding form the sides of its mouth.

2. These tusks are capable of breaking boulders.

3. It has dark eyes with red irises, a gray face, and a cowl-like feature of green segments on its head, neck, back and chest.

4. Its arms have three red fingers, and its lower body is gray, with red speckles on the underbelly.

5. It has red toes and a red tip on its tail.

6. Fraxure is very violent and territorial.

7. Fights over turf often break out between it and another Fraxure.

8. After a fight, it sharpen its tusks on river rocks, as they do not regenerate.

9. It lives alongside rivers.

10. Fraxure engages in violent confrontations with Bisharp for the locations of sharping stones.

11. Fraxure was the first Generation V Pokémon to be designed.

12. Fraxure represents December in the Unova horoscope.

13. Fraxure’s tusks may draw inspiration from Dicynodonts, tusked synapsids with thick hides from the Permian era – most likely Placerias – though its elongated tusks seem more like pickaxe blades.

14. Its crest may be based on a hadrosaurid (Saurolophus, specifically), or perhaps a Corytophanid such as the brown basilisk.

15. Fraxure may be a combination of fracture and axe.

16. A Fraxure appeared in Drayden Versus Iris: Past, Present, and Future!, where it was a Pokémon Iris borrowed from the Opelucid Academy to battle against other students when she was younger. She met up with Fraxure again in the same episode.
