Escavalier is a dual-type Bug/Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It evolves from Karrablast when traded for a Shelmet, which evolves into Accelgor simultaneously. 1. Escavalier is an insectoid Pokemon with a head sporting the red horsehair crest of a knight’s helmet, with a visor underneath it.
2. Its shoulders have large, round metal ridges, from which its thin black arms extend.
3. The arms are tipped with red-striped protrusions resembling jousting lances.
4. Its face and torso are bare of armor, but its lower body is concealed within a swirled gray shell with a red spike on the underside, which was presumably the shell of a Shelmet.
5. Its tough armor protects its entire body.
6. It flies around at high speed, jabbing foes with its lances.
7. It is brave and will face any challenge even if in trouble.
8. Escavalier is a popular Pokémon in the Galar region, with a famous painting showing it dueling Sirfetch’d.
9. Escavalier is probably based on the Drilus flavescens genus of beetle.
10. Drilus larvae are known for eating snails and stealing their shells, explaining why it attacks Shelmet and takes the shell as a Karrablast.
11. Its design also seems to be based on a jousting knight. Additionally, it might be slightly based on a cuirass.
12. Escavalier may be a combination of escargot (French for snail) and cavalier (French for mounted soldier) or chevalier (French for knight) . It may also refer to Excalibur.
13. Bianca owns an Escavalier, having traded her Shelmet for Professor Juniper’s Karrablast in Evolution Exchange Excitement!. After the evolution, Escavalier refused to obey Bianca, so Bianca and her Escavalier, and Professor Juniper and her Accelgor, had a Tag Battle against Ash and his Boldore, and Cilan and his Crustle, so Escavalier would gain Bianca’s trust. Bianca later used Escavalier in Mission: Defeat Your Rival!, where it battled against Cameron, but was defeated by Samurott.
14. Two Escavalier appeared in Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening, under the ownership of Dirk, who used them while attempting to capture Mewtwo. They eventually escaped when Mewtwo crushed their Poké Balls.
15. Escavalier debuted in Movie Time! Zorua in “The Legend of the Pokémon Knight”!. It starred in Wonder Fighters, a movie based on the Wonder Launcher, where it battled a Golurk.
16. An Escavalier appeared in a fantasy in Crisis at Chargestone Cave!.
17. An Escavalier appeared in Master Class Choices!, under the ownership of Shulin. It was used in the Fleurrh City Pokémon Showcase. Shulin used her Escavalier along with Accelgor to round up a group of Rhyhorn, and made it to the Freestyle Performance.
18. In The Lesson Ends Here, Alder used Escavalier against N, but was quickly defeated.
19. Blake’s Escavalier debuted in PS543, where it evolved from his Karrablast after it was traded for Whitley’s Shelmet.
